Wheatpaste For The People

Saturday, May 16 • 11:00am – 4:00pm

Lithia Gazebo • 150 Winburn Way, Ashland

Street art is the voice of the people. While multinational corporations, algorithms, and private companies control the majority of images we constantly stream, street art remains the only truly democratic and free medium of expression.  Why pay for a billboard when you can just use wheatpaste?  Stop by the Lithia Park gazebo during Fringe and practice your decoupage, make art together, or take home a recipe to bring activist art back to the masses.

dtour is a mixed media street artist and activist. Trained as a middle school science teacher, he upcycles materials and blends them with stencils, paint, and relevant cultural content to create unique artwork. From wooden canoe paddles to cow skulls, no material is off-limits when life inspires creativity.  While specializing in wheat paste and graffiti street art, all of dtour’s work supports social justice and inspires multimodal activism.
