The Dishwasher

Saturday, May 3 • 2:00pm – 2:15pm

Butler Bandshell • Winburn Way, Ashland

This piece takes place in a non-human environment where its individuals can achieve perfect synchronicity with others using a machine. There is no worry of misunderstandings or miscommunications, everything is automated and easy. Until curiosity tests this world’s limits. What happens when there is no longer assistance with connection? The Dishwasher does not attempt to make a statement on whether convenience is good or bad but rather creates a parallel to display how leaving convenient situations can cause large disruptions.

Absurdity  plays a large role within the piece that adds to the non-human element of the project. Details in facial expression and frantic movement help to create an otherworldly atmosphere for the viewer and performer.

The Dishwasher will also be performed on Sunday, May 2nd at 3:00pm at the SOU Music Recital Hall. Click here for more info!
