In a poem titled “The Tree,” a man named Alfred Kreymborg once asked his readers, “How many monkeys are you?” In today’s rapidly changing world, this question feels more relevant than ever. One must truly introspect to find and enumerate the monkeyness within oneself: 4 in the tree, 5 on the bed, 1000 on typewriters, will it ever stop? A Multiplicity of Monkeys is a small collection of poems which hope to answer at least some of these questions.
Jade Harper is an artist, writer, and occasional drag queen. She spent most of her childhood in Reno, Nevada but is currently a student in Ashland, Oregon. Her work has been published in Main Squeeze Literary magazine. She likes bad puns.
