Detail of the Forgotten and Demonized

Have you ever wanted to see a dragon? Right here they are even tangible. These two dragon pieces are needle-felted life-size sculptures of dragon busts. There’s a hand-made wooden plaque at the base, with the piece resembling game that’s been hunted and mounted for sport. The larger main dragon has natural colors with golden highlights, some embroidery, minimal jewelry, and overall takes up space both physically and symbolically. This dragon resembles the treatment of demonized communities, especially focusing on women and the LGBTQ+ community. The dragons have a lot of symbolism woven throughout, but mainly focuses on how members of these communities are demonized, viewed, harmed ‘for sport’, silenced, and much more. The second smaller dragon has more pronounced darker colors, with a color palette consisting of mostly black, blue, and purple.
